2018 APEX REPORT

November 8 and 9, 2018 NAEA hosted the Afffilate Presidents Exchange (APEX), in Orlando Florida.  Missouri Society of Enrolled Agents was well represented with attendees: Charles Riggs EA, Vice President; Kathy Blood EA, Board Member; and Sheryl R. Gorman EA, Secretary.

Day one opened with membership retention ideas.   One of the key points brought up was to make new members feel wanted and welcome.   It is also very important to be able to show new members the benefits of membership immediately.  There is access to membership benefits as well as a host of other ideas and post card campaigns on NAEA’s website.    This was well presented by Bernadette Antonelli, EA, NAEA Membership Committee.

We had a large amount of information given to us regarding PAC, using the Affiliate Database and Educating America.

Day two started with a wonderful presentation from Bill Nemeth, EA.   I learned so much from his presentation.   He spoke to us about event planning and FOIA.

Jeff Gentner, EA then showed us a demonstration of Constant Contact.   Wow!   This program will do a lot that we were not even familiar with!   We all learned a lot.

We finished out with loads of information from the Education Foundation, Utilizing Social Media, Government Relations Update and Making a Board Motion.

It was a wonderful two day experience and I am proud to have been able to go.

Respectfully submitted:

Sheryl R. Gorman EA, NTPI Fellow

Secretary, Missouri Society of Enrolled Agents
